Where You Can Dine On $600,000 Worth Of Truffles At The Airport

Having a server slice white truffles over your dish is not a typical experience for pre-flight dining at Newark Liberty International Airport. But for a week only from November 5-12, as part of New York’s White Truffle Festival heralding the beginning of the season for truffles, diners in United’s redesigned, gastronomically enhanced Terminal C at Newark will be able to experience that at several of the terminal’s new restaurants. As part of an arrangement between the Italian producer Urbani Truffles and OTG, the company that designs and runs the terminal’s dining spots, six restaurants are spotlighting truffle-laden dishes. To create them, Urbani brought over 200 pounds of white truffles worth $600,000.
